Birthday celebrations on the road

Last year I had an idea for a short video which I wanted to film on the occasion of my birthday. It wasn’t intended for professional use and neither did it have any promotional purposes – just something simple and fun to give my friends a little laugh.

The whole process, from coming up with the concept to filming and posting it online, happened on the same day. The actual filming took place in-between shows, on the highway, as we were leaving from our first party in Limassol for our next one in Nicosia.

I initially posted it only on my personal Facebook profile and captioned it, “When it's your birthday but you're on the road all day.” The reaction from my friends was rather positive so, this year, I decided to post the video on my website as well as the David’s Magic Parties Facebook page for everyone else to enjoy.

Besides humorously describing the situation of that particular day, the video also very truthfully portrays the ironic lifestyle of professional entertainers who are always involved in all sorts of parties and events and yet they rarely dedicate any time for their own celebrations.
